Rebecca Atkin has been a podiatrist for over 20 years and has had a lifelong interest in the healing arts of holistic therapies. It has been her lifelong passion to train as a reflexologist.
Rachel Jackson began her working life in a caring profession aiding people with mental health problems and/or learning disabilities. A move to London changed her direction where she found herself working in a corporate environment, but she longed for a return to working with people in a holistic and therapeutic way, hence why she trained to be a reflexologist.
Both Rebecca and Rachel have been fortunate to have studied reflexology at the highest level to complete their level 5 Diploma in Practitioner Reflexology with the Gaia School of Natural Health. Both Rachel and Rebecca have full membership of the Association of Reflexologists.
They are continuously updating their knowledge and have undertaken a course incorporating essential oils into their practice.
We also offer Indian Head Massage - a relaxing treatment based on the ancient Ayurvedic therapy which involves massage techniques to the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face which can help reduce tension and improve circulation.
In today’s busy world it is all too easy to neglect yourself, reflexology can offer a safe space where you can relax, unwind and restore any imbalances in your life. Reflexology is a complementary holistic non-invasive therapy that is based upon the premise that the various systems and organs of the body are reflected onto the feet and hands. The therapy uses the application of pressure to reflexes in these areas which via the nervous system access the different parts of the body. This allows the body to relax, improve sleep, release tension and stress, and create a sense of equilibrium, balance and improved wellbeing.
We will be providing general reflexology treatments bespoke to each client and specialist treatments including:
• Adaptive Integrated Reflexology (AIR) for stress & anxiety,
• Reflexology for reproductive health including fertility, maternity, peri-menopausal and menopausal symptoms,
• Reflexology for palliative and cancer care including those with lifelong conditions.
• Advanced Musculoskeletal techniques including treatment for plantar fasciitis.
• Working with meridians with reflexology.
• AromaReflex which is the creation of an individualised blend of essential oils tailored to the holistic treatment plan for the client.
Reflexology is generally suitable for anyone of any age and the services we provide are to adults including those receiving end of life care.
All new clients will require an initial consultation which will take between 15 to 30 minutes, this will involve taking a comprehensive history of the client including their personal details, health status, medications, current diet and lifestyle. This will enable a bespoke treatment plan to be formulated and tailored to the clients needs.
Reflexology treatments typically last between 50 and 60 minutes, following this any aftercare advice is provided including recommendations on frequency of further treatments as reflexology is known to have a cumulative effect with benefits usually experienced following 4-6 sessions this can then be followed up with regular maintenance treatments as required by the client.
Reflexology is a wonderful way of maintaining your body's healthy balance and general wellbeing, reducing the stresses and tensions that come with busy lifestyles and giving us a space to reflect on the mind as well as the body.
Reflexology can induce a deep state of relaxation, which improves the effectiveness of the treatment. Relaxing helps relieve tension and aids circulation, increasing the flow of nutrients, oxygen and energy to all parts of the body, and helping with the removal of toxins.
While it is not a cure, Reflexology can be particularly helpful in managing many health conditions, especially constant or recurring ones that we might have come to accept over time as being a normal part of life.
Here are a few of the more common conditions that can be supported through Reflexology:
Sinusitis
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Headaches and migraines
Stress & tension
Depression
Hay fever & other allergies
Asthma
Women’s health
PMT, PMS & menstrual problems
Hormonal imbalances
High blood pressure

It is usually safe to have Reflexology alongside conventional medicine, but if you are currently having any medical treatment please speak to your GP before booking an appointment.
